           WSCPA Executive Director's Report:
                         June 24, 2003
Board Manuals
The office has prepared a manual for every board member. We
will use this to work through this and future board meetings.
I hope that we will have a very productive session this week.

Nextel Phone Patrol:
NEXTEL has confirmed the list of agencies that will be participating
in the NEXTEL Phone Patrol. The office went through a process
certifying the program with NEXTEL and the start date will be
July 1st. The program is renewable every year and they will
send the renewal forms to the office starting the end of April.
The first phones will be sent out by July 1st with the existing
phones being changed out August 1st. NEXTEL will also be
at the spring conference in Pasco to showcase the program.

Angela and I will send out a letter to the entire program giving
them the time frame for the replacement phones to go out and
the delivery date for the new phones. I will keep very close
track on the program. We are trying

Elections:
The office received 50 ballots out of 435 ballots sent out.
The ballots were unanimous for the stated slate of officers. It
bothers me that we are receiving a low return of our ballots.
See Chief Fulton’s Report.

Membership:
WSCPA membership currently stands at 458 members. We
are waiting to hear from the WSCJTC, King County, Pierce
County, Washington State AG’s Office, and Boeing Security
for either Gold Agency or Sponsoring Memberships. This
would add another 100+ members.

At present time, WSCPA has 34% of 258 law enforcement
agencies in Washington State as members of WSCPA. We
need to stress having more agencies a part of WSCPA. Every
board member needs to identify this as one of the main goals
for WSCPA.

Web Site:
The newsletter was placed on the website this past week.
We are currently scanning the WSCPA manuals and
pamphlets so that camera ready copies will be ready
on the website. We are trying to add the Black Knight
Graphics page to website to display WSCPA
merchandise. We are working on the special membership

CD’s and have a copy for the board members.

Board Work and Goals Session:
I hope that everyone will enjoy the session. We need to
work on our current goals. We last visited these goals at
the Walla Walla Conference. I hope we will have a good
session.

Email Notification of WSCPA Members:
The office is working on a new WSCPA Membership Email
list for Outlook Express. This will be used for quicker
notification. Our members sometimes change their address
two or three times a year. We should have this up and
running this week. We have entered the Washington
State Legislature and Senate and will be running a test
sometime during June sending out a introduction of
WSCPA activities to every legislator in Washington State .

NCPC - United For a Stronger America Program
I spoke with Darryl Jones and Ryan Johnson of the National
Crime Prevention Coalition this past week. They shared the
news that both Jim Copple and Arthur Cutlur have taken
new jobs with research institutes. This should open up
additional opportunities for WSCPA

Darryl seemed very encouraged with our activities and
hopes that we will continue our efforts with the Stronger
for a Untied America Program. They would like to see a
list of dates for the regional meetings. I advised Darryl of the
board meeting this week and that I would call him as soon
as I could with the dates. Darryl asked about WSCPA
participation in the Safe Schools , TCC, and Community
Works Programs. I advised Darryl that we would discuss
this during our goals session and I advise him of what we
decided.

A Special Request of All Board Members:
I need your help with information for both the Newsletter
and for the Web site. I was need articles from each of you
for the newsletter. I received the President’s Message and
one article from Marion Swendsen. I need dates for your
regional meetings a couple of weeks before they happen
to be placed in the website. I really need any survey forms,
power point presentations or reproducible reports that we
can add to the member’s only web site. This will continue
to make the web site grow and become
